When the G5 debuted, packing six pulse-dose settings (up to 1,260 ml/min) into a 4.7 lb chassis was unheard of. That balance — real clinical capability at carry-everywhere weight — redefined what "portable" meant for oxygen users, and it still holds up.
Battery life that changes plans
Up to 6.5 hours on the standard battery and 13 hours on the extended battery (setting 1) means the G5 measures outings in days, not hours. Batteries hot-swap in seconds, and the external charger keeps spares topped up while you're out.
An ecosystem nothing else matches
Backpacks, batteries, columns, filters, power supplies — every part of the G5 is user-replaceable and stocked. That serviceability is why so many G5s bought years ago are still in daily service, and why parts availability should factor into any POC purchase.
G5 or Rove 6?
The newer Rove 6 shares the G5's flow range and accessories with a longer rated lifespan — it's our default recommendation for new buyers. But when G5 stock is available at a sharper price, it remains a superb machine backed by the same 3-year warranty.
