Why we ask for a prescription

FDA regulations require a valid prescription for all oxygen concentrators and CPAP/BiPAP machines. It's not red tape for its own sake — the prescription tells us your therapy type and flow setting, which is exactly what determines the right machine and configuration for you. Accessories (batteries, filters, bags, chargers) never require one.

How to submit yours

Order first, submit after — we verify within one business day and your equipment ships immediately upon verification.

Who can write it

Any of the following licensed professionals: MD, Primary Care Physician, Psychiatrist, Dentist, Doctor of Osteopathy, Physician's Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Naturopathic Physician. Prescriptions from Chiropractors, Optometrists, Podiatrists, or Psychologists are acceptable only if the prescriber is also a licensed MD or DO.

What it must include

  • Patient's full name
  • Description of the prescribed therapy (e.g., oxygen at a given flow setting, or CPAP pressure)
  • Prescriber's signature and contact information

Standard prescription pads, office letterhead, and printed prescription forms are all fine. Where the therapy specifies settings, we'll configure your CPAP/BiLevel machine before it ships.

International and non-English prescriptions

If you live outside the US, a prescription from your home-country physician is generally valid provided it meets the requirements above. Most languages are accepted; occasionally we may request a certified English translation and will tell you promptly if so.

Ordering again?

We keep your prescription on file for future orders — just mention it in the order notes or to your phone representative. If your therapy has changed, send the updated prescription and we'll replace the old one.
